In Reach (Brownstein/Amarante/Battat)

Green, the streetlight paves the feet of my exchange

Driving in the avenues of strange

Colors come electric in my mind

Dancing all around me undefined

Crash, the world is made of steel, strong and tall

Threaded to the base of Babel’s fall

I live within the rubble left behind

Skipping on the skyline of my time

I’m endless provided I begin

And sovereign but a servant to the wind

And I’ve sought her and chased her to the sea

I’m sailing but the oceans holding me

It’s holding me

Seed, the sun is bleeding slowly into view

All across the smile strung to you

The light projects the aura of your ways

Bursting through the faculty of the day

Bloom, I bathe within the memories I lose

Swirling in the surging avenues

The waves remind me of mistakes

Leading me to wish for my escape

I’m endless provided I begin

And sovereign but a servant to the wind

And I’ve sought her and chased her to the sea

I’m sailing but the oceans holding me

It’s holding me

With every step I take I’ve come to find

One move forward is another to the side

Like chasing the horizon or swimming against sea

All within my view but never in my reach

Maybe it’s me that brings me to you

Would anything change even if I knew

But that’s for you to know, for me to find out

Time to find what this is all about

I’m endless provided I begin

And sovereign but a servant to the wind

And I’ve sought her and chased her to the sea

I’m sailing but the oceans holding me

It’s holding me
