Hey my friendly shadow, I like the way you move

You always seem so happy just going with the groove.

In your steps I wander, where I otherwise could not 

I'd like to have the courage to step without a thought.

Shadow, when you're dreaming, do you stray into the light?

I hope you know I miss you, in the dark depths of the night

Only when you’re near I feel so high and tall

As the night comes in, you leave then I feel so damn small  

My shadow always follows me

You laugh so large it shakes me, I learn to lose my frown

Feeling free and flowing and never slowing down 

I look to you all day long, and follow where you fade

To mornings home where all your steps will proudly be displayed

Your words are little thunder, which whisper in our storm

A silent exclamation that's hidden in my norm
