Golden Gate Dancer (Brownstein/Amarante)

Golden Gate Dancer, caught you in a glance

And there isn’t an answer, except let her dance

You’re just fueling a fire, with no will to advance

It’s all pointless wisdom, when you’re caught in a trance

When walking on ashes, your footsteps don’t fall

Bouncing down the ceiling, and running up walls

The mind will meander, the heart never stalls

She meets you in wonder, your dancer she calls

The melting of moments you’ve yet to acquire

Leaves motions for memories I know you’ll admire

And the endless false seconds and wistful desires

Are yours forever so long you conspire

Golden Gate sunshine, with golden blonde hair

She moves in a whisper, allows you to stare

She moves without music, the smile she wears

She whispers again, she’s yours if you dare

The melting of moments you’ve yet to acquire

Leaves motions for memories I know you’ll admire

And the endless false seconds and wistful desires

Are yours forever so long you conspire

You know you should leave but your soul wants to stay

She paints the sky scarlet and dances away

You’re living in starlight at the end of the day

Just trapped in the moment with nothing to say
